SCCS TRANSPORATION SERVICES

Client Transportation and Appointment Assistance

Reliable Transportation With Compassionate Personal Support

Stephanie’s Compassionate Care Services, LLC provides transportation and appointment assistance to active SCCS clients throughout Memphis, Tennessee, and surrounding service areas.

Our transportation service is designed for clients who may have difficulty attending medical appointments, picking up prescriptions, completing essential errands, or safely traveling outside their homes without assistance.

Transportation is provided as part of the client’s approved non-medical home-care services. It is not offered as a public taxi, rideshare, ambulance, or emergency medical transportation service.

Whether a client needs help preparing for an appointment, entering and exiting the vehicle, walking into a medical office, checking in, waiting safely, or returning home, our caregivers provide respectful support throughout the scheduled visit.

Can anyone book a ride with SCCS?

No. Transportation is reserved for active SCCS clients and must be related to the client’s approved care needs.

Can the caregiver use my vehicle?

Yes. SCCS generally provides transportation using the client’s properly registered, insured, and safe vehicle. Written authorization may be required.

Can a caregiver take me to a medical appointment?

Yes. Transportation may be scheduled for approved medical, therapy, dental, vision, laboratory, and follow-up appointments.

Will the caregiver stay with me?

The caregiver may remain with the client when waiting or appointment assistance is included in the scheduled service.

Is waiting time billable?

Yes. Time spent accompanying or waiting for the client is part of the scheduled service and may be billed at the client’s approved hourly rate.

Can the caregiver come into the examination room?

The caregiver may enter with the client’s permission and the medical provider’s approval. The caregiver cannot make medical decisions for the client.

Can the caregiver pick up my prescriptions?

Yes, when prescription pickup is approved and all pharmacy authorization requirements have been completed.

Can the caregiver take me grocery shopping?

Yes. Grocery shopping and other essential errands may be included when they are approved in the client’s care plan.

Can the caregiver use my debit or credit card?

Payment methods may only be handled according to SCCS policy and the client’s written authorization. Receipts must be returned to the client or authorized representative.

Can I bring my walker or cane?

Yes, if the mobility aid can be safely stored in the vehicle and the caregiver is able to manage it within the approved care plan.

Do you provide wheelchair transportation?

Additional stops must be approved in advance. The caregiver may not make unauthorized schedule or destination changes.

How early should transportation be scheduled?

Transportation should be requested as early as possible. Advance scheduling improves the likelihood that an appropriate caregiver will be available.

What happens if my appointment runs late?

The caregiver will notify SCCS. Coverage may continue when staffing allows, and additional service time may be billed.

What happens if I cancel?

The SCCS cancellation policy will apply. At least 24 hours’ notice is generally required to avoid potential charges.

Can a family member ride with the client?

A family member or authorized support person may be permitted when there is adequate vehicle space and the arrangement has been approved in advance.

Are transportation services available every day?

Availability depends on caregiver scheduling, location, time, client needs, and advance notice. All transportation must be confirmed by SCCS.
